My name is Joshua Johns. I’ve been a career firefighter/paramedic for over 10 years. I’m fueled by black coffee, hearty firehouse meals, and my passion for firefighting’s history of helping. I started Tradition of Service to have a place to put some thoughts and ideas about the job in writing.

I believe that everyone in emergency services has something to contribute to our collective knowledge. It’s important to share and discuss what we know so that we all can be better informed, make better decisions, stay safer, and most importantly serve the public better when the bell rings.
